About the Fair
Plenty to See and Do! The 4-H Building will be full of exhibits and displays. There will be foods, quilting, produce, fine arts, hook and needle, arts and crafts, clothing, photography, horticulture, floriculture, wood working, and of course our "Wheat Showcase". All these events at the Russell County Free Fair will probably make you hungry, so take time to enjoy the food vendors or the 4-H Food Stand.
4-H is a big part of the Russell County Free Fair and we'll have plenty of 4-H activities. Make time to watch the horse, sheep, hog, goat, bucket calf and beef shows. These animals will also be on display during fair week along with rabbits, chickens, turkeys, maybe even a duck!
4-H livestock will end the Russell County Free Fair with the Livestock Auction on Friday night. Other fun activities include the Henri Wenthe Annual Frog and Turtle Races and the Tractor Pull. There are vendors in the Russell Recreation Building, please go visit their booths.
We also have Jodi's Barnyard Blessing where children can feed and pet the animals. There will be Fair Inflatables and games for the children. Musical Entertainment will be provided Tuesday – Friday Evening. The Ranch Rodeo is back again this year on Friday evening.
